Who are we?
SEMP is a not for profit and non-religious organisation run by a group of volunteers with the sole aim of introducing Maharashtrian and Marathi culture to the local British community.

We collect information about you when you contact us directly via email or our website. We may also collect information about you if you get in touch with one of our volunteers.

When you interact with us on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter we may obtain information about you (for example, when you publicly tag us in an event photo). The information we receive will depend on the privacy preferences you have set on those types of platforms.
What information do we collect about you?
- Contact details
We collect information about how to contact you such as your name, email address and phone number. We will collect this information whenever we interact with you and may need to get back in touch later. For example, if you contact us by email or via our website, or if you speak to one of our volunteers.
How do we use the information about you?
Event and News Communications: If you have given us your consent to do so we will send you information about our upcoming events, as well as events from other similar organisations and news from SEMP. If you have consented to receive event and news communications, you may opt out at any time. To opt out, click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any email from SEMP, or contact us using the details above.
Do we share your information?
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Disclosure required by law
We will disclose personal information when required by law, if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on us.
SEMP takes all reasonable precautions to protect the personal information we hold. However, given the nature of the Internet and the fact that network security measures are not infallible, we cannot provide an absolute guarantee to the security of your information.
